YOGA

Yoga contains the opportunity for us to return home to our bodies.   It the transformational process of remembering who we are - fully alive in this soft animal body.   Whether it is to heal an injury, gain strength and flexibility, or cultivate equanimity, the practices of yoga and meditation are effective tools.   It is as simple as slowing down, breathing and paying attention.  These practices are accessible to everyone.

Thank you so much for Sunday’s class at Namaste. I thought I would be applying the friendliness teachings mainly to potty training, but I’m finding it useful everywhere. I just had an unexpected meeting with my husband’s first wife. The teachings from class helped me so much to stay calm and FRIENDLY and all went well. This relationship that has been such a difficult place in my life was made so much easier by loving kindness. Thank you!

Mindful Vinyasa is a vigorous class with a focus on awakening both the mind and the body through yoga asana.  The class moves at a fairly quick pace while cultivating and maintaining mindfulness. Wisdom teachings are woven into the class in order to integrate the intellectual into the soma.

Hatha Flow uses bodily postures (asanas), breathing techniques(pranayama), and meditation techniques(dyana) with the goal of bringing about a sound, healthy body and a clear, peaceful mind.  Wisdom teachings are woven into the class in order to integrate the intellectual into the soma. Appropriate for beginners.

Community Yoga is a donation based class. The class starts with 45 minutes of yoga asana. This is followed by a 20 minute Yoga Nidra (reclining guided meditation) and then a 15 minutes seated meditation. Ashley ends the class with a short dharma (wisdom) talk.
