“You may not control all the events that happen to you, but you can decide not to be reduced by them.”

Maya Angelou

Explore power and choice in this afternoon workshop. See where your true power lies. Practices such as mindfulness and metta (loving-kindness) support awareness of power and choice. Cultural and personal views impact our own sense of inner agency. We will investigate how much choice we actually have and what true inner power feels like. Power, strength, and choice lie within each of us.

"There's power in allowing yourself to be known and heard, in owning your unique story, in using your authentic voice.” Michelle Obama

The workshop starts with an asana class from 11:30 - 12:30. A short break will be offered from 12:30 - 1 for a picnic style lunch (bring your own) in Strawberry Creek Park which is adjacent to the yoga studio. The workshop is from 1 - 3:30 and includes guided meditations, talks, discussion, and yoga nidra. You are welcome to attend just the asana class ($25), the workshop on power and choice ($45), or both the asana class and workshop ($60).
