Yoga & Dharma: An In-Person Exploration of Power and Choice

Power, strength, and choice belong to each of us.

Explore true inner power and choice in this in person workshop series. Practices such as mindfulness, letting go, equanimity, truthfulness, and self-compassion support awareness of power and choice. Cultural and personal views impact our own sense of inner agency. We will investigate how much choice we actually have and what true inner power feels like.

We will be a small group of people, no more than 10, practicing together to renew ourselves with nature, community, and the twin practices of yoga and meditation. Plan to spend lots of time outside, to laugh, and to eat wholesome delicious vegetarian food. There will be space for you to be alone and space for us to connect. We will stand still, reflect, and bathe in the natural world so that you can return to your life revitalized and inspired. Weather permitting, we will make apple cider on Saturday afternoon. Honing the Skills of Teaching

Mentorship for Yoga Teachers

“In learning you will teach, and in teaching you will learn.”

Phil Collins

Join this on-line mentoring program to support yourself in the craft of teaching yoga as we take a deeper look at class structure, creating themes, sequencing, language, and on-line offerings.  Find (or solidify) your teaching voice and develop confidence and trust in the authenticity of your teaching style.  Key themes also include intuition and creativity. Teaching is a daily exercise in vulnerability and courage - it is an art and a practice that with care can be strengthened over time.

Coping with Uncertainty

Coping with Uncertainty

You may have heard teachings about how everything is always changing or about how things are always uncertain. In fact you personally may have weathered periods in your life where everything has been turned upside down. In this moment, collectively we are living a reality where uncertainty is more pronounced and obvious than ever. How can we make decisions when it is not clear when we can safely leave the house? This can be very destabilizing and disconcerting. Because there are many tools such as yoga, mindfulness and wisdom teachings available to us for support, I have decided to offer a 6 week course on Monday evenings to dive into practical tools for dealing with uncertainty. Every meeting will have a brief asana and meditation practice focused on mindfulness. Topics include compassion/self-compassion, mindfulness, exercise, pranayama, mantra, radical acceptance, guiding principals and small group discussions. Mondays from June 1 - July 6.  6:30 - 8pm on Zoom.  Cost is sliding scale $108 - $222. No one turned away for lack of funds.  Classes will be recorded if you can not participate. Please email to register or for more details.

Mindful in Nature

Let's go outside!  This special event on July 13 takes mindfulness outdoors as a support for insight, joy and wonder.  Spend some time together connecting with the wildness of nature and each other.   We will stroll and open the senses to the environment - some of which will be in silence. Come prepared to walk some uneven trails and sit in meditation on the ground (bring a yoga mat, towel or blanket to sit on). You will need sun protection, water, and snacks. Also dress in layers for the cool marine fog. 10:30 - 12:30 round trip July 13. No need to register - just show up.  We will meet in Tilden park at the Meadows Picnic Area.  Suggested donation $20.
