Spring at Pudding Creek

The garden (life) is full of surprises! This year some burgundy bearded irises (that I didn't plant) are in bloom right now. The garlic is almost ready to be harvested and a massive batch of sauerkraut from the napa cabbage that I harvested last week is fermenting in a dark spot at the back of a kitchen cabinet. Peppermint, oregano and thyme are drying on the floor of the yoga room.

At a retreat a couple of weeks ago we sang together after a scrumptious dinner. Do you remember that song, These Are a Few Of My Favorite Things? What are your favorite things? Springtime surprises?

In other news, Tiger the cat continues to be both lovable and naughty. Sometimes he  bites my big toe when I am doing yoga! That's always a surprise.

I can get stuck in a doom and gloom loop. Can you relate? But life is full of surprises, and it is a wild ride as the season turns. Nothing ever stays the same for very long. The swallowtail butterflies are out, the tadpoles are growing legs, and the raven babies are learning to fly.
