I’m loving the yoga challenge. There were so many reasons not to sign up for it: “I hate virtual”, “7am, that’s so early, “other excuse”, and “another excuse.” And yet, it’s not too early, it helps me get going with the day because you’re a familiar face and voice, the virtual is quite sweet, and I don’t need to change out of my jammies or leave the house to get moving. The biggest challenge it turns out, is navigating around my cats who like to sit in the middle of the mat.

28 Days

Monday through Friday: 20 minute class

Sunday: 1 hour class

Each class will be recorded and available for on-demand viewing through November 26

Each session will include yoga asana and a few moments of guided meditation.

Options for different body abilities will be given.

All levels are encouraged.

This is my second challenge with you, and I’m really loving it. It’s become my nightly routine after I get my kids to bed and helps prevent doom scrolling, etc. I’ve been noticing that even the short practice helps my body relax from the busy work day + 2 small kids and get ready for sleep.

Research suggests that yoga (from NCCIH):

  • Helps improve general wellness by relieving stress, supporting good health habits, and improving mental/emotional health, sleep, and balance.

  • Relieves low-back pain and neck pain, and possibly pain from tension-type headaches and knee osteoarthritis.

  • Helps people manage anxiety or depressive symptoms associated with difficult life situations.

  • Relieves menopause symptoms.

  • Helps people with chronic diseases manage their symptoms and improve their quality of life.
